In view of the total number of SMEs that will benefit from the actions and results of the project, 50% will express interest in introducing an innovation process in their respective companies

 

Conducting 6 international benchmarking actions , through visits to reference companies and research centers in Central Europe

 

Holding 3 training seminars for SMEs , in order to boost innovation and business transformation in order to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0

 

Development of Open Source platform - Basyx , as a reference tool for large and small industries, research institutes, universities and interested people to participate in the fourth industrial revolution

The project covers intervention in the North and Center Region (NUTS II), and aims to encourage the adoption of Industry 4.0 methodologies in Portuguese SMEs, in traditional and technological sectors, promoting benchmarking actions that allow the assimilation of the necessary information for its digital transformation, in order to enhance competitiveness and value creation.

Its operational objectives are as follows:

 

  1. Accessing new skills, good practices, concepts and knowledge generated in spaces with strong innovation dynamics, seeking to internalize them and integrate them creatively in the companies' knowledge base;
  2. Promote the valorisation and transfer of technology, the qualification of human resources and the development of new areas of competence, namely, the digitization of Industry 4.0;
  3. Guide SMEs, providing them with knowledge, information and tools, for business transformation in order to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0;
  4. Encourage innovation in the national economic fabric, through the development of companies and entrepreneurs, making entrepreneurs aware of the importance of digital presence and technological incorporation in business models;
  5. To promote the integration of companies in global production chains and in the specialization centers that constitute them, in order to enhance innovation and the internationalization of SMEs;
  6. Strengthen cooperation networks, international replication of relationships established with other companies / R&D research centers;
  7. Increased profitability, associated with the adoption of technological systems in a productive context, ensuring the possibility of predicting and preventing downtime in production, as well as optimizing maintenance (preventive) and thereby the efficiency of equipment;
  8. Promote the national economic fabric in the target markets as a synonym for quality, sophistication and technologically robust;
  9. Promote international partnerships (chambers of commerce, research and development centers, business associations, agents, importers, among others);
  10. Streamline participation and dissemination processes at national and international level.
